Yarborough. Alford also worked for the State Democratic Executive Committee as Executive
Secretary during the tenure of Governor Preston Smith and as secretary to several committees
at State Democratic conventions. She married Sam B. Plyler in 1940

of the Federal Trade Commission, and a member of the Small Business Advisory Committee of
