Biographical note:
Charles E. Johnson was a member of the NSC Staff from 1962 through the close of the
Johnson Administration. He divided his time between the NSC, the AEC, and NASA.
This collection consists of files concerning scientific matters
- , memorandums, reports, transcripts, and speech drafts concerning a
variety of subjects related to Davis' responsibilities involving Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, and the
United Nations. The documents consist mainly of originals with some xerox copies
- drafts, and other material related to
speeches concerning foreign policy, as well as President Johnson's State of the Union speeches.
The bulk of the material is from 1964 to 1966, however, some of the material is related to
earlier or later speeches from
- contains material related to
the Soviet Union, China, and NATO, and a copy of Vice President Johnson's report on his
1961 trip to Southeast Asia, Vietnam, India, and Pakistan.
