The Polls show 65% against it. The telegrams against it-- mail is
running 50 - 50.
Chuck Robb said every man approved of it.
General Wheeler:
applauded it.
The message Abrams sent showed the men in I Corps
- part of the country. Because
of that, do we need 15 U.S. battalions.?
General Wheeler: General Westmoreland told me what he was going
to put in tonight's telegram. This is the first time he has addressed
the matter of additional troops.
