Attorney General Ramsey Clark said there were indications that
the situation had been substantially exaggerated. He said he was aware
that at this time we do not know how extensive the damage is. The
Attorney General said there were pros
- it was significant that the Soviet Foreign Minister talked
for the first time about their own troubles with extreme elements inside the
Soviet Union. The Ambassador said he was reminded of a passage from a book
which read, in part:
"People who have only enemies don't
