LBJ talks to Gilbert Adams twice today concerning the county convention in
Beaumont. LBJ tells Adams to put Jack Brooks on the delegation to the state
convention.
LBJ and CTJ have cocktails at the home of Justice Douglas

wanted to be Vice President. However, labor vetoed Jimmy
Byrnes ... and that was the end of him. And, Bill Douglas
of the Supreme Court, was a favorite of Roosevelt's and
sort of wanted to be Vice President
