The nickname "Chub" came to me at Groton School from the junior headmaster
Jared Billings, who had given it to my father when he was at the school
some twenty-five years earlier.
On me it stuck because all the new boys
thought that was my name, when he called

say, the FBI--to the FBI agent in the Embassy that would say,
"A known
Chicago gangster had left New York and is arriving in Zurich on such-andsuch a day.
Was there any way we can find out what he is doing there."
Things like that, you know
- to plan it.
Because we were new in this type of endeavor,
she was very specific, saying, IIIf I ever catch any of you in any
of the pictures, I'm going to break your damned necks," and she-F:
I can hear that.
