Yes, it was close. I don't think there was the cooperation between the leadership that
there has been in more recent years. Of course
- you've just described, he did help as
best he could, and that was right much.
He was always very cooperative.
The only thing where he ever got fouled up was on the hospital deal that
you just mentioned.
But as a member of the Senate, he
