I wanted to start out by asking you today if you've ever heard or
received an indication that LBJ went to San Marcos after

Well, we can iron that out later.
What else did you talk about that day you were riding around
in the car?

VW:
I don't think so, I don't remember any.
G:
Was segregation at all an issue in that campaign here?
VW:
Not in this campaign.
On the 1948 chronology, Truman's campaign stop in San Marcos, we attended

Lyndon s friend.

VW:
They organized the caravan that went from here to the opening address
that Lyndon made in San Marcos.
Our car had a permanent sign painted
on it, "Lyndon Johnson."
