At LBJ’s request, Truman appoints James William Johnson, Jr. to be U.S. attorney
for the district of Nevada.
LBJ writes Truman
- lipstick on the cat. She sees that her husband’s laundry catches up
with him in West Texas and keeps the household larder stocked for guests who
drop in unexpectedly for meals. Although she has a job on her hands in Austin,
Mrs. Johnson will try to hit
- column and radio broadcast. LBJ wants to see the memoranda to see
who has come up with ideas.

despite the controversy which arise because of Lee’s association

Collins, Jr., and convinced him that Hollers cannot win and he hopes that Collins
will persuade Hollers to withdraw.
