Bio: George Edward Reedy (1917-1999) was an educator, author, and lecturer. He was a staff consultant to the armed services preparedness subcommittee in the U.S. Senate from 1951 to 1952; staff director of the minority policy committee in the Senate from 1953 to 1954; and staff director of the majority policy committee in the Senate from 1955 to 1960. He served as a special assistant to Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1961 to 1963; press secretary to President Lyndon Johnson from 1964 to 1965; and special consultant to President Johnson from 1968 to 1969.
