Darling Baby Girl:
It is just about time for me to close up shop and turn in. Worked like Hell all day but didn’t seem to get much done. The RFC board is meeting today and they say they may have something definite tomorrow. God knows they are the slowest, most disgusting outfit I’ve ever dealt with. Jim has plenty of patience tho’ [sic] and I think he will finally wear them out if I don’t blow up in the meantime.
The answers to the 1,000 letters are coming in today. Charles H. has been with Mary Kay in Ohio on a vacation since the 12th and is due to get in here tomorrow. I plan to keep him busy on files and projects
2
and let Herbert get ready to pack in anticipation of getting away some day on a moments notice. It may be as late as Tues or Wed or maybe sooner. Will wire you as soon as I know anything.
I sent you shorts and golf dress today. Hope they fit. I think they are pretty and hope you like them.
Darling I love you so very, very much that I just can’t wait to get home to be with you. Please take this as a poor substitute O O O O O O O O O O for the loving I feel like giving.
Love LBJ
