Darling:
You made me feel terrible when I went home last night--went by to see if I had a letter-- had two awaiting me. One from S. M. on Sunday and Austin Monday. The thought that you had been disappointed when you didn’t hear made me feel very mean and sorry about my neglected letter writing. I’ll do better. Forgive me.
Just returned from seeing Austin Housing Authority pictures. They are grand and I’m so proud. Made me feel as if I’d done some good already and justified the confidence people have placed in me.
2
I want you to buy a tennis racket today and get Jesse K. to call university or city coach and make appointments for 3 or 4 lessons per week.
Also want you to immediately go see Harvey at Co. Club and get at least 10 golf lessons by the time I get home the 20th of Aug.
Then we will take clubs and racket and go to S. A., Monterrey, Saltillo and wherever you want to go on another (and if possible? better honeymoon. Do this now
3
Please--please--please do both now and don’t kid me like Senator did.
Must rush to floor. No news all quiet. Give Mother a hug--Keep a hundred for yourself.
I love you more every minute.
