Bio: Theodore Martin Hesburgh, a member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross, (b. May 25, 1917, Syracuse, New York-d. February 26, 2015, Notre Dame, Indiana) was president of the University of Notre Dame for thirty-five years. He served as Chairman of the Select Commission on Immigration and Refugee Policy from October 11, 1979-March 1, 1981.
