Bio: George Gregory Burkley was born August 29, 1902, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He received his commission as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy in 1941, and later advanced through the grades to vice admiral in 1964. He served as the physician to President John F. Kennedy from 1961 to 1963, and to President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1963 to 1969.
