Bio: George Allen Morgan (1905-1997) was a Foreign Service officer and diplomat from 1947 to 1969. His career in the Foreign Service included serving as first secretary of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, 1948 to 1950; service on the coordinating board and advisory planning board of the National Security Council, 1953 to 1954; counselor of the Embassy in Tokyo, 1954 to 1958; policy planning staff at the Department of State, 1958 to 1959; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Policy Planning, 1959 to 1961; deputy counselor and vice chairman of the Policy Planning Council, 1961 to 1962; and Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, 1965 to 1969.
